Juice Bar Stars

Pressed Juicery IntroWhile living in LA, I’ve heard the term “juice cleanse” thrown around quite a bit. And at first, I scoffed at the thought of surviving off nothing but juice for days at a time. That’s right. Scoffed. But I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been becoming more and more curious about it lately. And since I’m not a liar, (you can just call YMF the honesty zone), I will happily admit the fact here that I’ve been doing my research on LA’s juiceries. As it turns out, a lot of them will sell you individual cold-pressed juices, so you don’t have to commit to a cleanse right away. Which is awesome because the cleanses are mega expensive and I can’t make that fly on my college budget. But a few (still expensive) bottles of juice here and there? That I can handle. So please enjoy the fruits juice of my research labor, as I break down some of the best juice bars in LA.

Pressed Juicery Store

Judging solely on its ever-increasing amount of locations, Pressed Juicery is officially establishing itself as the King of Juice Bars in LA. And it’s definitely warranted. Take a look at some of their drinks.

See what I mean? So lovely. And with a menu ranging from cold-pressed juices to organic coffees and teas to infused waters, there’s definitely something there for everyone. Some of the juices I can’t wait to try are Blueberry Coconut Pear, Strawberry Apple Lime, Grapefruit Mint, and one of their many green drinks full of kale, spinach, apples, and ginger. Excited doesn’t quite sum it up.

Next up is Beverly Hills Juice. This shop is truly a family affair, open since the 1970s. And since that golden era they’ve been pressing out delicious juice combinations for everyone across the 90210.

Oh hey juice. You look GORGEOUS. The menu here ranges from fruit juice, to vegetable and ginger juices, to supplemental shots (I see you, wheatgrass), to amazing sounding banana shakes. You read that right. Shakes. They use bananas as a healthy alternative to ice cream, and I am 100% on board. Some of the items I am anxiously waiting to try are the Apple Cinnamon Juice, the Carrot Coconut Juice, the Apple Triple Ginger, and the Banana Manna Cacao Shake. I’m getting hungry/thirsty just writing those.

Sustain Juicery Logo

And batting third for the juice bars we have Sustain Juicery. This DTLA juice heaven is built on the principle of keeping things real; real ingredients, real people, real atmosphere. Everything real. And I have to say, I’m quite a fan.

Look at that. You can practically see the real. Sustain boasts a menu of cold-pressed juices, wellness cocktails (minus the alcohol), supplemental shots, and some of the tastiest sounding smoothies I’ve ever heard of in my life. So what am I excited to try, you ask? Wellllll, besides everything, I guess I could narrow it down to Refresh (pineapple, cucumber, coconut, mint, and chia), The Green Lady (wheatgrass, apple juice, and burdock), and the Purple Rain Smoothie (blueberry, strawberry, goji berry, oj, beet, banana, and maca). Holy mackerel. Healthy and delicious.

Moon Juice Store

Up next we have Moon Juice, a Venice and Silverlake juice spot, bringing you 100% organic goodness. They are all about celebrating the raw flavor of natural foods, and I fully support that mission. I’m behind you, Moon Juice people.

Oh look how pretty. Like little liquid gems. The Moon Juice menu features everything from cold-pressed juices, to wellness shots, to glorious concoctions that they refer to as “Moon Milks,” which are essentially almond milk blended with nut butters, super foods, and spices. Basically, they taste like dessert but are actually really good for you. That my friends, is a win-win. So besides the Moon Milks, I’m planning on trying the Canteloupe Nectarine, Gingered Lemon, Spiced Yam, and Carrot, Lime, and Coconut juices. Interesting combinations that will do the body good. Also, definitely recommend checking out their website. They list the health benefits of each juice beneath it, so you can tell which juice is going to do what for you. Too cool.

And finally we round out the juice bar lineup with Clover Juice. This West Hollywood gem aims to make healthy living accessible for all, so they formatted their menu specifically for people on the go. A juice bar that can keep up with a busy schedule? Yes please.

Oh my. Like a beautiful juice rainbow. Clover offers a variety of choices on their menu, ranging from juices, to healthy shakes, to Stumptown coffees, to grab-and-go snacks. Hellooooo. I’m in love. And I absolutely can’t wait to try their Watermelon, Lime, and Mint Juice, Mighty Leaf Shake (with frozen mango, kale, Greek yogurt and a plethora of other superfoods), and fresh made vegan baked goods. Sounds so delicious. I’m officially ecstatic.

So there you go. A super brief tour through LA’s juice bar scene. These, Internet friends, are the stars of the juice bars. And I absolutely cannot wait to try them all. I might not jump into a cleanse right away, but I’m definitely excited to starting reaping the benefits of these superfood concoctions. Here’s to ultra-healthy living.

    • Me too! I think I’m just going to test out the juices first, to see if I like them and if I could make it on just those for a few days, before committing to a cleanse. Thank you for your comment! :)
