Twenty Fourteen

sparklersHello there, YMFriends. It’s been a while. You look nice. Did you do something to your hair? Cool. Anywho, I apologize for being away for so long. I’m not going to make any promises and say that I’ll be back to the 5 posts a week grind anytime soon, but I’ll just throw you a good natured wink and let you interpret things from there. Wink.

2013 was certainly a year. To be honest, it was 100% weird and I’m more than happy to see it go. There were, of course, some beautiful moments and I could write for a while on some of the incredible firsts I experienced this year. But I’ll just sum it up by saying I had some grand times, crazy fantastic opportunities, laughed a good deal, and met a lot of golden individuals along the way. It wasn’t all glory though. The second half of 2013 has been the single most challenging time of my life. I can honestly say I’ve never felt so frustrated, angry, and down before. But like the majestic phoenix, I am confident I will rise from the ashes of 2013. And with that, let’s chat a little about 2014.

2014. Hi there, let’s be friends. I am more than done with 2013 and it’s shenanigans, and I cannot wait to start fresh in the new year. 2014 is my self proclaimed year of health. Physical, mental, and spiritual health. The whole nine yards. One of the worst feelings in the world is taking a long hard look at yourself, and realizing you are operating far under your potential. I can confidently say that was 2013. But the best feeling is reaching your full potential. And guess what. That sounds a lot like 2014 to me.

So here’s to laughter, long runs, organic produce, bad dancing, spontaneous adventures, new horizons, friendship, taking risks, and lots of success in the new year. And thank you to all of you for bringing YMF to life in 2013.

I hope you’ll stay with us as YMF goes 2014. Be there. Or be a rhombus.

Happy New Year.
